Two Janesville Acoustics de México Centers Recognized for 2018 General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award

Southfield, MI – Janesville Acoustics, a division of Jason Industries Inc. (NASDAQ:JASN and JASNW), was awarded the General Motors (GM) Supplier Quality Excellence Award for the 2018 calendar year at both of its Mexico centers. This is the seventh year GM Global Supplier Quality & Development presented this recognition.

Janesville operates eight locations in North America. Janesville de México centers located in Celaya and Uruapan were selected for the award.

“We’re honored to be recognized among this group of top performing suppliers,” said Srivas Prasad, senior vice president and general manager at Janesville Acoustics. “Janesville Mexico’s Managing Director Claudia Cervantes, Director of Operations Hector Gomez and our entire team’s focus in Uruapan and Celaya to drive zero-defect initiatives played an important role in achieving this recognition.”

The GM Supplier Quality Excellence award is selected based on a set of quality performance criteria in which suppliers must show above standard performance including zero defects in parts and components. The award recognizes companies that have achieved the cross-functional support of the entire GM organization.

In an award email, Rick Demuynck, executive director of global supplier quality and development at GM wrote, “GM’s goal is to ‘earn customers for life.’ Fundamentally, it’s about changing behaviors, holding ourselves accountable and delivering on our commitments. It’s about putting the customer at the center of everything we do… and that applies to every function, every employee and every supplier and their family of employees as well. Through your plant’s performance, you are helping to live that culture.”
